PSR Data Import:  Silhouette4/CE to Turbo

Silhouette4 and SilhouetteCE export PSR data ready to be imported by Turbo School. This is done by creating a simulated Turbo Orbiter disk.

1. When the floppy disk with the PSR Data export is received from the classroom teacher,  insert the floppy disk into the drive.
2. In Turbo, select Utilities and then P. PSR System

Problems? Questions?

Problem: Most of the students' PSR data was imported correctly into TurboSchool but one student's data did not come through. The teacher checked that student and the information was present on the student's report card.

Solution: Turbo and Silhouette communicate using StudentID (Com#) numbers. If the Student ID number in the student's Silhouette file is not correct, then Turbo will not recognize that student. The Student ID number is available through the Rename button when looking at the student's file in Silhouette.  (Note that the PEN number is not required.). Change the Student ID number to the correct Turbo ID (Com#) number and save the student file. Then export the PSR data file again.

Question: What about BCeSIS?  How do I import the Silhouette PSR data into BCeSIS.

Answer: BCeSIS is unable to import the data.  (Nov 2008)
